Variously referred to as sit-stand desks, sit-to-stand desks, and adjustable height desks, these models conveniently rest on or attach to conventional desktops – for use in either sitting or standing positions. The main manufacturers are ErgoDesktop of Ohio and Ergotron of Minnesota.
The Kangaroo line is ErgoDesktop’s main line and consists of several models including: Regular, Pro, and Elite. Kangaroo’s primary feature is the ability to adjust both the work surface and monitor heights. Variations include platform or VESA mounting for monitors, as well as a variety of surface finishes (black, putty, cherry, maple).
Also a part of the Kangaroo line the MyMac and MyMac Pro models are designed to accommodate various Apple iMac models – either on a platform or, for iMacs that allow it, VESA mounted.
The Wallaby line is a simpler, smaller line compared to the Kangaroos. Wallaby models adjust the surface and monitor height jointly – better for shorter users. The surface is smaller and available only in black.
Ideal for corner workstations, the WorkFit-A clamps to the rear or side of most surfaces and enables an effortless sit-and-stand work style. The Workfit-A models use Ergotron’s patented Constant Force lift technology to adjust the height of the keyboard, laptop surface, and/or monitors.
The Workfit-S models clamp on to an existing desktop and the surface and screens slide up and down along an angled column.
